The Mentor’s Trace

A Spiritual Journey from Ink to Architecture

“The Mentor’s Trace” is more than a design; it is a sacred bridge between generations. This project is built upon a cherished handwritten Hadith by my revered spiritual guide, Hazrat Sheikh Sayyid Taha Kamalizadeh Naqshbandi. His original script carries the eternal light of the wisdom: “Ra’s al-hikmah makhafat Allah”The highest pinnacle of wisdom is the awe of the Divine.

The challenge was to preserve the profound “trace” of the mentor while translating its organic fluidity into a structured geometric system. My process began by extracting the mathematical essence of each letter, mapping the spiritual curves into the disciplined right angles of Makili (Square Kufic).

From this foundation, the script underwent its final evolution into Muttasil Makili. By projecting the 2D grid into a 3D isometric space and applying a carefully calculated palette of light and shadow, the letters became architectural monuments. This transformation signifies that ancient wisdom is not static—it continues to breathe, expand, and inhabit modern dimensions.

“My work is but a humble servant to the trace left by my Peer. May these geometric structures carry the light originally imbued within his sacred script.”
