Next prayer, a journey shortcut and the tour programs, in one scroll.

  • Next prayer and countdown
  • Journey shortcut
  • Hajj, Umrah and cultural tours

Every frame is a real screenshot of the app running on an Android phone. The motion is added here: zoom, scroll, wipe and cross-fade. The status bar and system buttons are cropped out.

Introduction

Yolnâme, shown in the app as “by serverturizm”, gathers what a traveller or worshipper reaches for most: prayer times, the Qibla, the Quran, dhikr and supplications. It also carries Hajj, Umrah and cultural tour programs from Server Turizm, and a short Umrah preparation checklist.

It is a Flutter application with a Turkish interface. It has not been released.

Purpose and user needs

The app was scoped around a few things a person should be able to do without searching for a connection or opening five apps.

  • Know when the next prayer is and keep a simple daily record, with a make-up history.
  • Find the Qibla from wherever they are, with clear guidance on which way to turn.
  • Read the Quran and a curated book of 56 Prophetic supplications, with Arabic, Turkish reading and meaning.
  • Count dhikr offline, with counts that are kept for them.
  • Prepare for a journey: saved trip details, a preparation checklist and the Umrah programs.

These are design intents drawn from the project's own planning documents. They are not the result of a formal user study.

My responsibilities

  • Product scope and content structure.
  • Interface and design system, in light and dark.
  • Flutter implementation of every screen and service.
  • The local data layer and the optional account-backup layer.
  • Automated tests and written QA procedures.
  • Release-readiness notes for Google Play.

Design system and interface

The system is restrained gold on warm black or ivory, with one rule that decides most choices: only decorative layers may be translucent. Cards are opaque, and the printed Mushaf pages are never blurred. Navigation is a floating glass dock with five destinations.

  • Cards use a 26 px corner radius; the dock uses 32 px with a light blur.
  • Accessibility settings include text scale, larger tap targets, a higher-contrast scheme and a reduced-motion preference.
  • The interface language is Turkish. Quran and supplication text stays in Arabic.

Technical architecture

Almost everything runs on the phone. The cloud is used for exactly one optional thing.

Interface

Flutter screens for home, prayer, Qibla, dhikr, Quran, library, journey and settings. A shared design-token system and a glass dock.

On-device services

Prayer calculation (adhan_dart) · reminders (local notifications, WorkManager) · location and compass sensors · Quran and recitation audio (just_audio) · SQLite through drift for prayer and dhikr journals · home-screen widget.

Content

Bundled: 56 supplications and the 99 Names. Quran Library 5.0.1 for Mushaf pages, with optional translation and tafsir downloads the user starts. Read-only public feed for Umrah programs.

Optional cloud

Supabase with Google sign-in. One backup row per signed-in user in a dedicated table, protected by row-level security. Saved and restored by the user, never automatically.

Journals are scoped per account on the device: a guest profile and each Google account keep separate records.

Development challenges

Keeping people's records apart

A guest, and two Google accounts on one phone, must never see or overwrite each other's prayer and dhikr history. Journals are scoped by profile, the cloud backup is per owner, and the project's documents describe negative tests with two real sessions against the database rules.

Embedding the Quran responsibly

Page indexes from the Quran library start at zero while the app stores 1 to 604, which shifted bookmarks until it was handled. The first independent ARM64 build was about 157.5 MB, and the documents say plainly that download management improved but the size did not. Every optional download asks first.

Sensors and audio on real phones

A compass needle must not jump near 0 and 360 degrees, and recitation has to survive screen lock, notifications and audio focus. These are written into the QA checklist and still need confirmation on a physical device.

Release gates

Quran fonts, translations and audio, and the use of the company's brand from a personal developer account, each need a licence or written permission before any release.

Screens

Real screens from the app, in the order a person meets them: home, dhikr, books, prayer times, supplications and the Quran. They show the interface as it runs today, in both themes where both were captured; the app is not published.

Development status

ReleaseNot published. No store listing exists and none is claimed.
Version in source0.9.1 (build 32). A version number in the code is not a release.
Automated checksThe project documents record static analysis, 146 Flutter tests and 6 Python tests passing in continuous integration on the account-backup branch.
Still neededDevice QA on a physical Android phone, licence review of Quran resources, written permission for brand use, and Google Play requirements.
PlatformsAndroid first. An iOS version is planned and is not available.
