Overview
Istanbul UniLink advises applicants on choosing a university and programme, applying, registering and handling student affairs abroad. The site is written for Persian readers and is organised around the questions an applicant asks in order: what the service covers, where they can study, how the process runs, and how to start.
Services listed include programme and university selection, checking admission and scholarship eligibility, registration at public and accredited universities, residence and visa guidance, housing, student insurance and document equivalence.
Study destinations have their own pages: Turkey, Italy, Russia, China and other countries. The China page covers language courses, bachelor's and scholarship routes, and medicine and pharmacy, and says its age and grade limits are preliminary and depend on the university and term.
My role
Designer and sole developer: I designed the interface and built the site, its API and the internal tools behind it.
Stack
- Frontend: HTML, CSS and JavaScript, hand-written, no WordPress or PHP.
- Backend: Cloudflare Workers (JavaScript) serving the form and admin APIs.
- Database: Cloudflare D1 (serverless SQLite).
- Automation: Telegram Bot API from inside the Worker, and Cloudflare Cron Triggers for daily reports.
- Internal CRM and admin dashboard: HTML, CSS and JavaScript on the same Worker APIs and D1.
- Deploy and hosting: Wrangler to Cloudflare Workers, on the istanbulunilink.com domain.
Approach
A serverless web app rather than a CMS site: the pages are static, the consultation form posts straight to a Worker API that stores the request in D1, and a Telegram bot notifies the team. The result is light, fast and cheap to run, with no traditional hosting.
